FEBRUARY

February has come in with some beautiful weather. With high’s in the 60’s and if that doesn’t give you spring fever I don’t know what it will take!

I’ve been fishing for Muskie’s for most of the winter giving the Smallmouth a break. I have been hearing of some very nice smallmouth being caught during the warm spells. Reports have the fish being taken on crayfish patterns fished slow and deep.  Some great patterns to have in your box this time of year are CK Claw Dad’s, Rhodes’ Rattle-N-Claws’, Trow Tube Fly and the CK Critter Fly. Check out the featured fly’s this month for an assortment of these go to patterns.

As far as the Musky go we have been having follows on just about every outing but no solid hook ups yet. But we’ll continue to plug away and hopefully be awarded for our efforts.

I’ve seen pictures of some nice Rainbows that have been caught at Rose River Farm. If you have never fished the Rose there you need to check it out. Doug Dear has done a terrific job in managing his section of the river as a trophy stream. More information can be found by visiting roseriverfarm.com. If you contact Doug tell him L.E. sent you.
